Advertising

Nowadays the importance of advertising is increasing. Even people that aren`t in contact with it are faced with a society, with a culture and with other people who are manipulated.

Today don`t live whithout advertising, it is everywhere; magazines, television, newspapers, posters and many other media and no media industries.

Every day we are influenced by advertising that it around us to buy a product or to use an object that we want , we are manipulated. Here is the power of advertising!

To know the opinion of some people was made a questionnaire with the following questions:

1. What´s your position facing the advertising publicity?

2. Where do you prefer watching advertising?

3. Are you manipulated by advertising?

Concluded that the majority of females between fifteen and twenty years prefer whatch advertising in television; between twenty and thirty years prefere whatch in the magazines and between thirty and fourty years prefer listen to the rádio.

The most males between fifteen and twenty years prefer whatch advertising in television, between twenty and thirty years prefer listen to the rádio and between thirty and fourty years prefer whatch in the newspapers.

However, some people don´t like advirtising because they consider misleading and manipulat ive, others don´t expressed their views while remaining indifferent.

comsumer rights Today we are bombarded with advertising from all sides, with television being one of the most used for advertisement ...
Much of the intervals between television programs are overwhelmed with advertisements and the viewer is forced to watch them and internalize them without even realizing it.
The role of advertising should be to inform the consumer of a given product and its true nature but mostly this is not the case and the publicity it is misleading or abusive.

Misleading and unfair

The advertising is misleading the consumer leads to error, when presenting a product or service with qualities which in reality does not have. It is a false advertising.
One must distinguish the advertising of improper advertising. This is more serious, because it induces consumers to behave harmful advertisements are inciting violence, disrespect environmental values, exploiting fear of the consumer, or take advantage of the inexperience of a given age silhouette. Both methods of unfair and deceptive advertising is prohibited by the Code of Consumer Protection and the offender may be subject to imprisonment from three months to a year and a fine.

A case of beauty

One of the most common advertising is that using famous icons as models, actors or singers, with an image that would spend all you have ... this makes the public want that product just because the ad says that the use will be similar or have as much fame as famous as this ... This type of advertising focuses on the consumer desire, it buys the product but rather the expected results the product is not what was expected and the promised results do not appear ... this can cause consumers reached by concerned, for example, your own self esteem because just by thinking that your problem is not the product ...

Do not be fooled

Despite all the negative aspects of advertising today, I believe that if it ceases to be on our life would not be the same.
Now that we know a little better what is misleading and unfair that I will think better before you buy a product from a particular advertising, and of course, now that you know, if they choose to choose to buy and you think that you were mistaken calls your rights because if all we can do so by the advertising .

An advertisement

This announcement is a commercial kind. It´s connected to glasses sale to improve the sight.

Magazine´s name is “A.C.P” and it is an informative and commercial classification. The magazine has sixteen six (66) pages with at least thirteen commercials.

The most part of announcement or the biggest one is a commercial kind. This announcement it´s directed to all the peoples that have insufficient vision and needs to improved her.

The advert occupies one page. The central image are ladybug red and black with a deeper river and mountains, and also with a very finest image quality that means that who buys this glasses, will have a better colour sight and everything around.

Red is connected with life, with good sight, and blue deeper is connected with hope and safety, on getting a better solution to insufficient vision.

The slogan is: “Natural vision, at any distance”.

It proves that, if you have this glasses you will see well at a short and farther distance.

The letters size and type are bigger that the argumentative text, and aply attention.

publicity Nowadays, advertising is implicit in our lives, and where that can be seen best, is at the media most used by the Portuguese people, which is the television. In this media we see a advertising in all intervals, or rather, all intervals are advertising, institutional or not, and much of it is hidden even in television programs, which will cause our subconscious to be thinking in the advertising, thus causing a craving for the product, not knowing where it comes from (anxiety) bringing the subconscious to interact with the conscious, which is later in the "force" to buy the product because it makes it like a drug, which has to be "consumed” (purchased) to satisfy the desire for it.
Advertising is everywhere (radio, television, billboards, in our clothes and ornamentals, etc..), Which forces us to a "blocking" and get a brain “retardation”, it can fill the brain with too much information, yet relatively hidden, and distract us from the central feed of our existence, which is live and not, buy.
Well, advertising has many faces, or negative types, such as tricky and abusive advertising, and is tricky when the result which promised was not fulfilled, and abusive when encourages consumers to take dulled actions for him, like as for to society, (in a short way to say) such as advertising films for adults during a time that is very unlikely, especially dedicated to children, causing it to have an impact on their future.
But advertising can not only be bad, so a critical favor, is that it tells us and tells about the important things, which are more dependent on these days, such as the vaccine of the cervix, donations to charity, etc.. thus giving us the opportunity to live a more healthy way.

How is advertising?

Today advertising is a means commonly used by people to publicize their products and sometimes their work. We see these advertisements on TV, on electronic billboards located in cities, giant posters placed in the streets, in leaflets distributed in shopping centers and sometimes even advertising to reach our home via the ctt (post-road).
The type of advertising is the most used television as millions of people spend much of their time in front of a TV. It occupies almost all the time gaps in progamas television, making it sometimes a little boring due to its large number of repetitions.
The advertisements are not always true, ie do not address the reality as it is, we call it advertising. Advertising hides many secrets that people do not know.
This has been growing and evolving more and more over time. In ancient times it was not anything like it, since neither had television.

In addition to the disadvantages that the advertising in the back also has its positive aspects, such as for example, knowledge of jobs through advertisements in newspapers, magazines, etc..
Looking at how this has developed, it is expected that advertising is a great technology in the future.

Since ancient times that toys have played an important role in the lives of children. For thousands of years children played with toys of all kinds. Marbles were used by children in Africa for thousands of years. In Ancient Greece and the Roman Empire, were common toy boats and wooden swords, among boys, girls turn made their own cloth dolls.

During the Middle Ages, puppets toys were very common among children.

By the end of the nineteenth century, most of the toys were manufactured in house, or handmade.

Currently the toys are no longer made of cloth or wood, are mass manufactured and marketed.image

The most common toys for babies aged zero to twelve months are simple musical toys, toys or crib, objects that hang in the baby crib. These toys encourage motor skills, vision and hearing of the baby.

After the first year of life, blocks that can be fitted together and stuffed animals are also interested in the baby.

Dolls are attracting the attention of children around the second year of life.

Between the two to six years of age, the child becomes more interested in exploring the world around them. Some toys such as tricycles, balls and building blocks help to strengthen the muscles of the child.image

However, it is concluded that the toys underwent tremendous development are no longer simple cloth toys or wood and have become useful for the development of children and even created assigned so strong that keep your favorite toy ever!

Consumerism

Consumerism is the act of consuming goods and services indiscriminately, with no notion that can be harmful to our health or the environment. There are several discussions on the subject, including the type of influence that companies, through advertising and publicity, as well as the culture industry, through the TV will have on people.

Often the ads on TV are the main source of curiosity to

get people to try the products used by famous people sometimes are not the best suited for certain people, what with the excessive use can cause further damage, including problems health and also losing a lot of money.

Life isn’t the same without advertising: We just open the door and found a wonderful billboard of cheerful colours, such as size; the slogan could hold our attention for five seconds that will not easily be deleted from our visual memory. The world is irrevocably directed to marketing; the truth is that we no longer imagine another situation.

Maybe is too much, maybe enough… Nothing bettr than the voice of the citizen to make me understand the influence that advertising has on society. For this I was in contact with lots of people of different ages, in order to understand what is their opinion about the advertising. I obtained the following results:

- The most of women support the advertising and prefer see it on television;

- On the other hand the men are of the opinion that advertising is uninteresting, though they support it.

- They prefer television advertising, like women.

Then, I did a study for ages in order to understand what factores influenced the impressions of society.

I can conclude trough the graphs that people over 60 beginning not accept the advertising, maybe the knowledge and experience of life has influenced the way of thinking. From a general point of view, people can accept advertising and also support it.

Relatively the preferences, television is undoubtedly the organ of communications elected by the majority to enjoy the publicity. The radio is a organ of communication especially used by older age groups: The young people don’t hear much radio. One of the reasons for this fact is the replacing of radio with the Mp3 and Ipod’s.

Now… I have a huge doubt: Did I will advertise this article?

Advertising in a global way

 

Publicity is getting, nowadays a way to educate children.Everyday, between TV ads,streets full of publicity, advertising in radio and so on. We see almost 3000 ads everyday. This, is turning in a tod for education, with a language that really reaches a peolpe, together with a calling image and text it will be effective.

Publicity works like a metafore to which we call “ publicity mirrow ” or, in other words, we see ourselves in this ads. Therefor we buy more of those products.

Publicity reachs everyone in a different way because in a single ad there is millions of strategies to reach every kind of people.

Based on some surveys tried to understand the attitudes of people will face advertising, whether on television, radio, newspapers, magazines and internet.

Most people think that any of the advertising aims to persuade its own content, as they present a strong case, benefits to  consumers and often try to arouse feelings and emotions that will influence people's behavior and also feel that  encourage excessive consumption of products and services without having needs.
Other people, of which they obtained information that advertising can be beneficial because it provides information on products and services available, and introduce various types of the same product, enabling customers to choose what best meets your needs.
As to my opinion the different types of advertising can be very useful to the extent that there is manipulation that is not uncommon, but then can be harmful since most of the advertising is misleading, precisely in order to lead to the consumption of product or service.

Water stones

Type of advertising: Advertising business.
The slogan: "The power of nature is infinite." 482133
Image: the predominant color in advertising is green precisely because of this color is associated with nature. Used animals as the0 bear, ducks, turtles, birds and other animals which symbolize nature.
The argumentative text: "Brought to you by nature a unique combination of six minerals and 100% natural gas for a well-being extraordinary. "
In this commercial, at an early phase, a bear appears, followed by several other animals who appear to be the suppliers of "water of the stones" to the merchant. This  aims to identify how much is natural "water from the rocks" because animals are a symbol of nature and the fact is they who provide the water leads us to think that water comes directly from nature is not going through any process industrialization and therefore healthier. The text of argument are also explicit the components of water in an appealing because the word "natural" awakens an instinct for preservation of health has always had a connotative meaning. But not only the self-preservation that is in evidence, the domain in the desire to acquire is also evident in advertising.
I chose this commercial by the fact that this is "metaphorical" so to speak, and from my point of view the replacement of humans, who would be the case for suppliers, giving the animals water coming directly from nature makes that there is a preference for this product , which is being targeted by advertising for people to another product that is advertised even equal with another method.

Consumer society:

Our society is getting even more consumerist, people are getting addicted to do shops, they use it as a stress therapy, to run from their problems and even just for the joy they have while they are spending Money.

We thought that just rich people were really consumers but that’s a fact from the past, everyday we see people that sometimes barely can afford food buying valorous gifts to their kids or themselves.

I blame publicity! We can see publicity anywhere, while we are working, studying, running, really everywhere. It is turning our society into a hateful place to live, a place where it matters more what we look like than what we really are.

We are induct on buying the several products, mainly because of publicity and marketing. It’s everywhere!

Consumerism reaches everyone. This is our reality! The credit card is one of the helps to increase consumerism. However, it only contributes to instant happiness and it can brings many problems and few smiles.

We must start with fight against the consumerism and finish with our unhappy, unfair and relax society. Where is love, peace, help, time to share and reflection?

Time capsule

Christmas has been changing among the years, what used to be a love epoch turned, now, in the time of the year when people consume the most.

 

I went on asking my dad how it was in his time, he’s 60 years old so it should be a little different, I thought. Well, I was wrong, it wasn’t a little different it was the most abysmal difference I had ever saw. In his time Christmas was really poor with no gifts and just a few food in the table to divide for so many people, but it was a lovely epoch, everyone was happy. I looked at my Christmas and saw lots of gifts, only good food but no happiness and a small family, I don’t even enjoyed it! So, I feel in the right to ask some questions:

ºWhere is Christmas?

ºWhere is happiness?

ºWhere is the favorite part of the year for so many kids?

In our days, we are constantly bombarded by ads. Clothing, cars, services or food, we are surrounded by advertising that it guides our choices, whether in a conscious way, whether in an unconscious way.

   In fact, we often buy products that we don’t need or we don’t like! But the advertising is so good, so well done, so well produced that we tend to buy just because it's fashionable. We can say that advertising and art often make a perfect combination, make an authentic works of art.

   Choose a product for advertising can be more or less serious/dangerous because in our days have advertising trick for the people buy the products but this products often don’t correspond to what was announced.

º Christmas, most common designation of a time when people show their cheerful side.

Place, Caracas, Venezuela. Time, forty years ago, 1960. Based on Maria de Fátima Marquêz Estevez:

 

Christmas time was a cheerful epoch in my life, me and my brother waited all year for a time when all family where together, enjoying, laughing, talking, changing gifts, although there weren’t too many. It was a different time, a different era. We, the children, had other types of mind, we didn’t care about valuable gifts, well we didn’t care about gifts at all. I remember, like it was yesterday, one Christmas my mom hadn’t money enough to spend on a gift for any of us, so she gave us a sweet and we got so happy just with it. I really miss that time, when money wasn’t the standard factor in society.

Back in the 60’s, Caracas city, Venezuela, we ran by the streets saying hello to every single person, wishing a cheerful Christmas, hugging everyone. We had food of our own, ,the typical food was: “allacas”, “empanadas de carne, de pescada y de camarón”, but even with all reservations we had to wait until mid night every Christmas to eat and open the few gifts we had.

 

 

º Xmas, most common designation to the day that so many people used to enjoy but now just can’t remember what it used to mean. We live in a consumer society, where children think that the real essence of this epoch is to receive everything they wished for.

Christmas is a day where we receive all the gifts we asked for, when we can spend all night playing and our parents just don’t argue about. A really awesome Christmas, to me, woulda be if I got for present a new computer and a top 1 account in the slen from Metin2 game. The dinner shoulda be a hamburger with fries and peach ice tea. It woulda be really spectacular if my sister just shut up and let me alone, so I woulda spend all night playing, eating what I want and just be in my own world. Oh man, that woulda be magnificent.
